..Medininagar, Palamu: Following the Honorable Supreme Court’s annulment of previous Fourth class appointment in Palamu and its directive to the Palamu Deputy Commissioner to re-advertise and complete the recruitment process within six months, a significant change has been introduced.Initially, the Palamu district administration, in its re-published advertisement, had stipulated that Fourth class appointment would be based on “marks.” However, candidates consistently demanded that appointments should be made based on a written examination rather than marks.Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore raised this sensitive issue before Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a cabinet meeting.

Understanding the gravity of the matter, the Chief Minister had initially placed a temporary stay on the Fourth class appointment process.Recently, in a Council of Ministers meeting held on July 11, 2025, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore once again drew the Chief Minister’s attention to the matter. Following Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s directives, approval has now been granted for Fourth class appointment in Palamu district to be based on a written examination.Subsequent to this cabinet approval, Chief Secretary Smt. Alka Tiwari has issued instructions to the Palamu Deputy Commissioner to proceed with appointments based on a written examination. This decision addresses the long-standing demand of the candidates and is expected to bring greater transparency to the recruitment process.
